Loctite 222 is a low-strength, anaerobic threadlocker designed for locking and sealing small threaded fasteners that require easy disassembly with hand tools. Its purple color helps quick identification. Unlike standard adhesives, it cures in the absence of air and in contact with metal surfaces, making it reliable for precision equipment and delicate assemblies. It is ideal for precision components, instruments, and fasteners up to M12 in size. This product works on all metals, including passive substrates such as stainless steel, aluminum and plated surfaces. It is proven to be tolerant of minor contamination due to industrial oils, e.g. motor oils, corrosion prevention oils and cutting fluids.
